Message Por Favor

If anyone visits Micah this week could you please tell him our internet is out? He has been trying to call us, and hopefully he has figured out it is the ICE thing again. I just don´t want him to think we have up and moved or something. Thanks!

Another one Down

Another Christmas out of the way and down. For my gift Micah sang a song for me on the phone last night. It was the same one he has on youtube and I loved hearing him sing. He said he had to sing quietly so he did not get accused of being weird. I told him that his voice has grown better. He has more voice control and can even sing quiet now. He said yeah he works on it a lot.

The week was awesome and I enjoyed speaking on the phone with Micah every single day. It was great and I will miss not being able to talk every day. One thing is for sure, I'm not sure whose life is more boring, his or mine.

Christmas Carolers

I wish I could give a big hug and thank you to each and every person that came in the group to Christmas carol at the Coconino County jail yesterday! If they only knew how much joy they brought to one young man there it would make them feel all warm and fuzzy all over!

In fact Micah was so beside himself with excitement over the singing, people, and hot cocoa that he accidentally spilled the cocoa of the guy next to him. Lucky for him they gave him another cup. He was just higher than a kite last night with Christmas spirit and excitement.

Also there is a rumor circulating that they are going to reduce the percentage of your sentence served from 85% to 60%. That would mean Micah is almost half way done. We can only hope that one passes. He said it was between that and raising the taxes on the good folks of Arizona, I vote for the prison reduction!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Micah said to tell everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. He also wanted to thank all who have given money and helped make his holiday a little more pleasant. Let's all hope he has a much better year next year, and gets to the yard soon.

Christmas Cards

Our family just finished making Christmas cards to send to Micah. Since it takes about 10 days for our letters to get from here to the States we have to plan ahead. So far we have sent one letter everyday for the last 10 days, hoping he will get them one at a time rather than all at once. Usually the guards will hold them all and give them to him all at once. At least they give them to him sometimes.

Micah has visits this week if anyone has time. He was saying that he is drawing Christmas cards for trades for coffee. Keeps him busy I'm sure.

Free at last, well relatively speaking

I finally received a call yesterday that made my holiday season. Micah is finally out of the hole. After two weeks there they let him out. He is in a different pod in a different cell, but just very happy to be out.

He called yesterday, though got out on Wed. He was waiting to talk to his lawyer and hopefully give us some good news. No news, but the good news of him being out was enough for one day.

We have been mailing out one letter a day so he should be slammed with really boring reading materials really soon. Happy Holidays to all.

Still in the Hole

No call, means still in the Hole. Micah was really hoping to get out this week, at least that is what the guy told him. Evidently it did not happen today as he had hoped. He is hoping to hear from his attorney tomorrow and we sure to have some good news by then. In the meantime keep the letters coming, he really needs them right now and is about the lowest I have seen him since he went to Coconino County seventeen months ago.

Stll in the Hole

I spoke with Micah yesterday and unfortunately he is still in the hole. Maleah has been praying at night now, "please help Micah get out of that hole." Hard one to explain to a six year old.

In fact it is a hard one for anyone to wrap their mind around if they have not experienced it for themselves. Hopefully Micah will be out of the hole this week and be able to get settled in somewhere before the holidays.

Our family will be sending Micah a letter a day for the next week so that he can receive one a day until Christmas. We did it last year with cards, but he did not get all of them. This year we will try the letters and hope that he gets them all.

Micah is asking for letters from everyone. He is not allowed to watch t.v. and is pretty bored with nobody to talk to. Letter time everyone!!!
