Dismissed !!!!

To the relief of all the stupid case that Micah had a hearing for yesterday has been dismissed. Thanks to those of you who went to attend, only to be told it had been dismissed. Glad someone had the brains to see this was a waste of tax payer money, as well as time.

This whole case stemmed from the Thanksgiving incident I wrote about where Micah was put in the hole for two weeks for defending himself. Evidently his celly went a little wacko and charged into Micah. Micah of course came up fighting. He was a little aggressive, and the attacker pressed charges.

They had one hearing a month ago and Micah's lawyer tried to get it dropped at that time. Thank goodness they finally got it dropped. Micah has a clean jail record going into his sentencing this summer and we would love to keep it that way.

Micah is now in "general population" and feels much more comfortable there. Now if we could just get him working on that GED, I think he would actually be busy.

Hearing Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning at 8:30 Micah has a hearing at the municipal court! A great chance to see mr guapo in the flesh, wish I was there to see him. Hoping it will get dismissed as it is a silly charge between Micah and another inmate. Micah's attorney will be handling it. Thanks for the support!

Hearing

Micah had a hearing yesterday about the assault charge by another inmate. It seems strange to me that they would ever listen to one inmate over the other. I mean how reliable of a witness are they? So now he is having to deal with this one. The good news is they said that his time would count, good thing ha since he has been in county 18 months now.

HEARING

Thank you to all who attended Micahs' hearing on Wed. I was so glad that I could be there to see Micah and very appreciative of all the support there. I got to visit Micah after the hearing and he was in pretty good spirits.
Here is the thing about jail though. They must have caught wind of the fact that he was in good spirits so they worked right away to remedy that. As soon as he returned they made him gather all his stuff and moved him to lockdown in c pod. Now of course he was very happy and content in b pod, he has lived there almost a year right?
When I went to visit they almost did not let me in. Thank goodness for Sgt. Wildermuth who had flagged a visit from me. Can you imagine if I had come all the way from Costa Rica and they would not let me visit? I would of ended up in there with him for sure.
Anyway so once I did get in he was pretty upset about being moved. We did have a great chat and he is anxious to get on with his life and get his time done. He is almost a year down. You can read all the detail about his plea at www.azdailysun.com.
Now begins the waiting game as we wait for Hamilton to be tried. Micah said that he will not know what prison he will be in until it happens, like until he is on the way there. Just pray that is happens fast and that he can get out of c pod.
I did call his attorney and she said she would see that he was moved back. Evidently the attorneys and pi had all talked and decided he would not be moved, someone obviously did not get that memo. They like to move him and get him upset though, gives them a little sick joy or something, good ole coconino county.

NEWS FLASH

So I have been lax in my reporting skills, sorry. I usually only read the news coming out of Flagstaff when I absolutely have to, or when I know of a development. I have to apologize for my lousy reporting in not reporting that Jesse Collier is back in Coconino County Jail.
Evidently he decided to accept his plea of manslaughter and a testimony against Hamilton for a 7-20 yr sentence. That of course according to the newspaper, which I'm not in any way sure if it is the truth.
This may be the reason for the change in the hearing, the one that we don't know if it is going to happen or not. I will know by Monday if there will be a hearing or not.
We do hope you all can make it for the hearing should it happen. The newspaper was very quick to point out that Collier was such a good boy, and had lots of family and community support. I guess dealing drugs and wearing a bullet proof vest don't count against "good boy" status anymore. Also not sure whether to believe that one since it came from the same source that said Micah had no family members present at his hearing, when in fact there has never been a hearing that he did not have a family member present for.
I'm sure all of you that have tried to visit Micah know how difficult that is, community support, ha?

HEARING TWO WEEKS

Two weeks from tomorrow is Micahs' hearing at 3:00. It is looking like there will be big group there to support Micah. He was so happy last time to see people he had not seen in awhile and to feel the "love". Keep up the encouragement and if you see something funny pass it along to Micah. He could use a good laugh these day. Jokes, stories, or just great lines he can use on people are much appreciated. His address is under his pic and isn't he just the cutest darn thing?

JAIL GUARDS

Micah shared a funny story with me on Wednesday after his hearing. He was pretty discouraged, but as always managed to keep his chin up and find the humor in the situation.

On the way to the courthouse for the hearing he got to talking to the driver. Of course Micah got to talking to the driver, he talks to everyone. Anyway so they got to talking and the driver told him that he had been doing his job for 10 years.

Micah said, " wow you have been doing this since I was 7 years old! Just think about it you started doing this kind of job when I was just a little kid with a superman backpack that I would wear and pretend it could fly me around everywhere. You have been driving people to their hearings and I was like flying all around my yard".

He said the guy did not find it at all amusing and even got a little pissed off at him. I told him he better be careful or they will be driving him to the funny farm instead of his hearing!

THE LATEST FROM COCONINO COUNTY

This blog site has been set up for my son Micah Neumann who is in Coconino County jail. He has been there for seven months and I will be writing this blog on behalf of him. He calls me every other day and writes me every week, so that will be where I will get the posts for this site. I will also include his poetry as he sends it. He is in the process of writing a book of poetry that will be included for sale on this site.

If you have ever wondered what it is like in jail, here is your chance to find out. Feel free to ask questions and they will be forwarded to him so that he can answer them the best he is able. Please do not ask questions about his case as he cannot discuss it until it is settled, sometime in the near future hopefully. Thanks and enjoy Micahs humor, it is what is getting him by!
